IPYG Austria isn't polished, isn't finished, isn't glossy. We're Day 1, made in Vienna. This page just went live. The team is forming. The first events are being planned, and not someday: already this summer.
That's exactly what's great about it: you don't have to push through ten existing structures. You can shape what IPYG in Austria becomes from day one, in Vienna, in your federal state, online.
Behind us: a worldwide network with 1,500+ partner organisations across 130 countries. Ahead of us: a blank red-white-red page we get to write together.
Young people in Austria are under pressure: world anxiety, mental strain, the feeling of not being heard. At the same time, the desire to actually shape things has never been bigger.

89% believe in democracy — but participation is too rarely experienced as effective. IPYG Austria steps into exactly that gap: not through promises, but through real space for voice, co-creation and visible impact.
IPYG Austria is Day 1. This is our public blueprint, not a glossy roadmap, just honest: what's running, what already has a date, what's still vision.
You're reading our very first sign of life. From now on, we build in public, every move, every step, visible.
← You are hereTrial run of our Young-Leaders format based on YEPC (Youth Empowerment Peace Class), IPYG's official education programme. Small, focused, hands-on. The first founding leaders go through the programme together and lay the foundation for IPYG Austria.
First open Youth Peace Forum in Vienna. Young voices, discussion, small actions — the first public IPYG Austria moment that anyone can join. Date and format fixed together with the founding leaders from the trial run.
Major IPYG festival in South Korea: thousands of young people from all over the world gather in Seoul. We follow the day from Vienna, posts, small actions, greetings to Korea.
From then on, it keeps coming: cleanups, meetings, workshops, cultural evenings, we curate new formats together with you on a rolling basis. Stay tuned, the list keeps growing through the summer.
First IPYG workshops in Vienna schools, peace pedagogy in peer format. Plus cultural-exchange evenings with young voices from across Europe.
We're looking for volunteers who want to support youth for peace. Age is irrelevant: if you feel young, you're young enough. Writing, organising, getting hands dirty, posting, thinking along, just being there, anything works.
Part of a youth organisation, a parish group, a sports club, a student initiative, or another youth group, and you'd like to support youth for peace together with us? Let's cooperate.
Words, posts, copy, all of it counts. Help us with social-media actions, blog posts and announcements that make peace visible. Online and on paper, whichever fits you.
This is the IPYG vocabulary worldwide, and what we're rolling out in Vienna piece by piece. Each format with its own status.
Our Young-Leaders format based on YEPC, IPYG's official education programme. First founding leaders are coming on board right now, details follow once the pilot is locked in.
Visible peace on the street. Thousands of young people worldwide, one shared signal. Peace Walks happen once a year, and we're planning the next one for 2027 together with HWPL.
Peace work that gets its hands dirty. Donauinsel, parks, neighbourhoods, we leave places better than we found them. First cleanup in planning.
Encounter, not stage. Young people from different backgrounds meet, in person, unfiltered, with real conversation. Format being designed right now.
For context
IPYG is globally headquartered in Seoul, where the movement was founded in 2013 and where the international headquarters sits. Vienna is the Austrian hub of the movement.
Vienna is a UN seat, a bridge between East and West, and, very practically, one of Europe's youngest and most diverse cities. IPYG Austria builds on that.
Our Vienna activities connect local community with the international IPYG network: school workshops, neighbourhood peace walks, and joint cleanups with partner organisations from across Europe.
