World Refugee Day donation campaign
Support for refugees in Mali, together with HWPL Mali.
For World Refugee Day on 20 June, we are raising funds from 25 to 30 June 2026 for people displaced in Mali. Every contribution flows through HWPL Mali directly into aid on the ground.
Why Mali?
Mali faces one of the most severe and least-noticed humanitarian crises in the world. Conflict and displacement hit families and children hardest.

On the ground in Mali
What HWPL Mali does
Aid that lasts: HWPL Mali works across five areas of action, carried by local volunteers and partners.
Interreligious and intercultural dialogue
WARP Office meetings bring religious and community leaders to one table and build trust between communities.
Volunteer and humanitarian aid
Distribution of relief supplies as well as sanitation and clean-up drives. The goal is more than 100 active volunteers.
Youth engagement
Peace workshops, walkathons and programmes that strengthen young leaders.
Peace education for children
School supplies, workshops in schools and targeted support for displaced children.
Positive press and a culture of peace
Constructive reporting and training for journalists.
Through the "We are One" project, HWPL Mali brings all parts of society together for peace. Cooperation agreements are in place with the cities of Yorosso, Gao, Mopti, Macina and Bandiagara.

Tax deductibility
HWPL Austria is currently not listed among the beneficiary institutions under §4a of the Austrian Income Tax Act (EStG). Your donation is therefore not tax-deductible. We are actively working on this registration and aim to complete it by the end of the year.
The work of HWPL Mali contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals 4, 10, 16 and 17. Partners receive regular activity reports with photos, data and testimonials.
